On this week’s episode of Kocktails With Khloe, Khloe had actor and author, Taye Diggs; actor, director and producer, David Arquette; actress and producer, Katie O’Brien; and singer, songwriter and dancer, Kat DeLuna guest star.
When this episode first started, I wasn’t so sure about how it would turn out, but it was actually pretty good. Though the stars seem like they wouldn’t normally hang out in the real world, they all meshed pretty well. With this group, everybody was pitching in. There weren’t any awkward moments and I was pleasantly surprised by David and Katie’s personalities.
I’ve seen a couple of David’s movies, so I know of him, but I had never heard of Katie and that made me a little skeptical about how she would open up on the show. She completely surprised me though because she was so open and funny. She was joking and telling stories and not only entertaining the viewers, but also Khloe and the other guest stars. I can say the same about David because he was also funny and entertaining, but we can probably thank the alcohol for that because he seemed a little intoxicated.
Taye and Kat were also entertaining, but I wasn’t shocked by that because they both don’t strike me as being shy, quiet or meek. Kat’s outfit did surprise me though because her thong was on full display and I’m sure some male (and female) viewers found the scene where she was showing David how to twerk very interesting. Taye had a couple funny moments as well, but he was more calm and composed with his humor.
As usual, they played a couple games and asked one another some questions and we, the viewers, learned some interesting things about them all. For example, we learned that Kat had her first kiss when she was 20 years old and that she has a knack for knowing which men have smelly d**ks. Apparently, that’s a very handy talent to have and she says that it’s kept her from dating players. We also learned that, in the past, Katie had a very awkward date with a banker that ended up helping her get out a crazy situation.
After a couple more funny moments, the episode ended with a round of “Khloe’s Kocktail Theater.” This game is played at the end of each episode and the point is for two people to act out a recent social media war. This was a special music edition of the game, so Kat and Taye, who are both trained singers, acted out the disastrous interview between R. Kelly and and interviewer, Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. It was entertaining to watch and they both did a great job singing through the interview.
Overall, I liked this episode. I liked how everyone blended together and I also liked the authenticity of their responses when the topic of race came up. Taye recently released a book, Mixed Me!, that’s dedicated to his son. It talks about how his son, who is of mixed race, should be able to celebrate both sides of his heritage. Kat, who is also of mixed race, spoke on the topic and pointed out some very interesting points.
This episode was good and I can’t wait until next week’s.
