Kocktails With Khloe (Show Review)

Tonight was the premiere episode of Khloe Kardashian’s new talk show, Kocktails With Khloe.

The show, which is an hour long, is basically supposed to mirror the feelings and actions of a girls night in. You know those nights when you invite a couple friends over and you all have drinks and snacks and you act crazy and talk about everything under the sun? Well that’s the feel that Khloe wanted to reciprocate with this show.

She had Kym Whitley (Young & Hungry), Brandi Glanville (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Aisha Tyler (one of the hosts of The Talk), Snoop Dogg and her little sister, Kendall Jenner, guest star on tonight’s episode and they all seemed to have had a great time.

The first half of the show was all about the ladies. After they arrived, they all (minus Kendall) received the signature Kocktail of the Day, which was called Smokey Eyes. And from there, they got down to the fun stuff.

They kept it light and fun, by talking about their dating life, telling funny drunk stories and talking about their favorite types of alcoholic beverages. They also brought some humor to the night by playing some of Khloe’s crazy games. One game that they played, which was called “Do Me,” was pretty similar to “Have You Ever?” Khloe asked the girls if they’ve done a specific action and if they have than they had to do some crazy action that she named. For example, Khloe asked if anyone had ever fallen asleep during sex. Kym had, so she had to stand up and do three jumping jacks. The games were all short, but the viewer and those playing learned some interesting facts about the players and it was very entertaining to watch.

There was also a point in the show when Khloe dared Kendall to prank call Kim and tell her that she was pregnant. Of course, Kendall did it and Kim was really cool about it. She was giving Kendall all this good advice about how she should see it as a blessing and that if she needed to talk than Kim was willing to come to her. It was very sweet and everyone on the show seemed surprised at Kim’s reaction. I know I was!

By this point, Snoop Dogg had arrived and he is just so chill and down to earth.

Aisha asked him if he smoked everyday and, if not, has he ever stopped and for how long? I was so touched and surprised by his response. He said that he still smokes, but he quit 11 years ago and he did it for 180 days. He coaches little league football and at one point one of his players approached him and said that he smelled like his brother (i.e. he smelled like weed). Snoop said that he was so surprised that he stopped smoking for the whole 180 days, which is how long he was coaching. Till this day, he still doesn’t smoke while he’s coaching. I think that that is so amazing. He wants to have a positive influence on the kids that he coaches so he doesn’t smoke when he knows that he’ll be around them.

Another thing that I was surprised to learn about Snoop was that he didn’t know that they put him in Straight Outta Compton. He didn’t find out until he was in the theater watching the movie. I was surprised at that because I thought that in order for them to use his name and likeness, they would’ve had to have gotten his permission. Technically, they were supposed to, but Snoop said that he didn’t mind. He looked up to N.W.A., so he actually enjoyed it. He also said that he liked the the voice and demeanor of the actor that played him, so that’s always a plus.

Snoop gives a little toast to Khloe and her new show and from there they move to the kitchen table to have some table talk. We learn that Khloe wanted to either be a social worker or a pre school teacher when she was young and that she and Lamar were looking into adopting when they were still together. Interesting and definitely not something that I knew. Brandi also talked about why she thinks she got fired from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and they touched a little on diversity in Hollywood and at the Oscars and Snoop talked a little bit about his friendships with Biggie and Tupac Shakur.

They saved the best for last, in my opinion, because Khloe’s Kocktail Theater was an hilarious game. She had Snoop and Kym play out the Nicki Minaj and Farrah Abraham Twitter feud. It was so funny. Snoop and killed it with the British accent that he gave Farrah and Kym’s Nicki Minaj impression was funny too.

Overall, I like the show. It was cute and I can definitely see a lot of women tuning in to watch it. She asked a lot of sex questions and a lot of the games referred to sex in some way, so the show is for big girls. They were all drinking and having a blast! Khloe has a lot of connections, so she will probably have some really good guest stars on her show this season, which could be a huge draw because asking about famous people’s sex lives is somewhat interesting. Not saying that all she’ll talk about is sex, but still. I also liked how Khloe’s bartender/chef, Sharone Hakman, was telling the viewers how he was making the cocktails, so if you wanted to make the drink at home, you probably could.

I will continue to watch and I hope you will to.

Kocktails With Khloe airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FYI Network.

Amira 😉

A Little Extra: Khloe and Kendall looked flawless. I mean, their makeup, hair, nails, outfits and jewelry was all on point!
